New Job

Postby X-OvrDistortion » Fri May 23, 2008 3:39 pm

Well, it has finally happened. I got the job I have been trying for, for the last year.

I am moving back to SoCal for the job too!! The only downfall is that I have to fly to NC for training.....I have never been on a plane before and am scared shitless. I know that the chances of anything going wrong are slim, and that is not my concern. My main concern is being up in the air. Oh man....I woke up shaking last night cause I was so nervous about flying....what to do?

Congrats on the new job. I could use a break from MN but I can call it home and love it too.

I have flown twice before. To and from AZ and it was great. Takeoff is the best part. It just sticks you in the seat! Just get a window seat and watch everything pass by. :)

Well congrats on the job, man!

I can't believe you've never flown before! You scared of heights in general? It's really kinda like a tame roller coaster ride on take off.

Congratulations. and yeah don't worry about the flying. I love it too (well, except for flights lasting longer than 3 hours or so. Then I start getting cramped), especially the power on take off as Todd said. My grandma had never flown before I went with her down to louisiana one time. she was scared out of her mind too, but in the end she didn't think it was bad at all. I have a feeling you'll be the same.

Yeah, I think I will be fine once I am up, it is the initial getting on the plane that is bugging me.

That is where I landed my job. I hope it last for a long while. I hate bouncing from job to job.

That is the type of machine, plus older ones, that I will be working on.

My last day at work is next Friday. We are in the process of getting our house packed and ready to sell (crosses fingers). I leave shortly after Friday, and the wife and kids will follow shortly after that.

Congrats.

As far as the flying thing; I, too, can get scared to the point of major anxiety attacks. Used to fly fine, loved the window seat. Last summer, went to Hawaii; and sweated bullets before the flights.

My girlfriend brought along some Dramamine and it worked wonders. Took two, and felt fine after the plane leveled out. Didn't have any to take on the last leg from Vegas back to Louisville (didn't help that on this flight we sat right in front of the wings. The engines are noisy, and added to the "YOU ARE SO F%^&ED" effect), and there was definitely a difference in how I was able to handle the ride. I hadn't prayed so much during one single event in my life!

Dramamine for damn sure!!!
No. Really.
