thinking of a system
thinking of a system i want to try something just thought i would post to get your thoughts. i have a 2003 ranger regular cab with a cut through i want to do 16 8's entry level just something cheap because i hear that surface area can make up for quallity i know i can do a 147 on a term lab with 4 dd 1508's but can i get close with 16 cheap 8's does surface area matter?????thanks for any input

surface area matters more than displacement, because in specific setups like bandpass or ported when playing near tuning the cone barely moves, but is under extreme levels of stress/pressure....
the kicker however is that with entry level drivers you usually get T/S parameters that are more inline with sealed, or giant ported boxes, than small ported boxes.
I'm personally a huge fan of the TangBand 8" speakers, tho I wouldn't call them entry level.
