I'm not a fan of Acer, but I did like the look of their 24" except for the silver shiny bezel. I don't like reflective surfaces around the screen. And you can regularly find the 24" Acer for less than the $600. If I were going to spend $600 for a 24", I'd go for the Dell with a 5 year warranty. You can get it for $579 with a 3 year, and then upgrade to the 5 year for $50. Same resolution as the Acer, but it has card reader, USB, and stereo inputs built in :)

I'm only a couple feet away if I'm sitting in my home office, or if I put it as the TV, it would be about 10-14 feet. I noticed that CC has the Samsung 24" monitors on sale and they have great resolution (1900x1200), but again...using it at that means super teeny tiny icons, and I just cannot read the text when it's 1/16th of an inch high :(.

Honestly, I think I'm just going to hold off on any purchases. I want to build up some more savings anyway, and it's not a "necessary" item. I've got plenty of TV's right now, and my big HD at 62" with 1080P is plenty for me at this point.

LOL, I should move into the modern age some day. My monitor is a viewsonic 19 short tube I got two of about 6yr ago, they have worked great and still do. They have speakers and a mic, and they are black. That was hard to find back then. And my TV, well lets not talk about that! But I don't have time to watch it much anyway so I really don't care. I did get my new refridge today, sweet!

I have dual 19" CRT's right now, too. This was simply a luxury purchase for my bedroom if I were to buy it. I have a nice Sony Trinitron 27" in there right now, and it works just fine, so I don't need to buy anything.
