Just fine as long as you keep the resolution reasonable.. most guys that are running HTPC's on 8" CRT machines like mine are sticking to ~900 vertical lines of res.. Some of the specialty companies have taken 9" machines up to 4000x4000 for flight sim & VR, but that takes electronic mods to handle the video bandwidth.. Tube life depends on a lot of things, brightness & contrast settings, video content.. Can range from 4k hours to 12k+ hours if you treat them well.. Typical digital PJ lamps last ~2k hours..
