I Found a perfect 12.5" PVC pipe!

Postby Member02 » Sun Jun 10, 2007 4:30 pm

I'm going to turn this thing into a subwoofer box for my apartment.

I figure I'll either paint it or cover it in veneer... any suggestions?

When I got home I was SOOO happy to see it fits the ed 12a perfectly!

I don't know... I cut it so it would be ~2.5 cu ft when sealed, so it should sound good in a house...

I am going to down fire it, just need to order some neat looking feet from parts express...

.....sonotube anyone???
if you do some research on sonotubes you should be able to find some good info

sonotubes were big about 7 years ago

id say vennering would be hard since its a tube and i think painting would be difficult cuz if you do have to fill any holes then itll be hard to make everything smoooth...id just cover it in some black carpet and call it a day

being pvc.....is that sucker going to resonate? i can't remember if sonotubes are made out of super rigid stuff....but i know circular shape helps it not need any bracing....

That PVC is so thick I dont think you have to worry about it resonating. Good *** find.

Personally I would do carpet or paint.
